Five kinds of reasoning, all in one sitting
Every question is made for this test, using the formats psychologists use to measure reasoning. Nothing depends on what you learned at school.
Pattern reasoning
Grids of shapes that follow hidden rules. Find the piece that fits.
Number reasoning
Sequences that grow by a rule you work out, from simple steps to two rules at once.
Spatial reasoning
Turn 3D cube figures in your head, and predict how folded, punched paper opens out.
Verbal reasoning
Word relationships and short logic puzzles with made-up words, so general knowledge can't help.
Working memory
Watch blocks light up, then tap them back in order. The sequence grows as you go.
How it works
- Take the testNo account needed. After the first 10 puzzles, the next 10 adjust to how you're doing, the way professional tests keep a short test accurate at every level.
- Unlock your IQ scoreYour score with its margin of error, your percentile, how you did in each area, your memory span, and every question with its answer explained.
- Keep practising as a memberA fresh test whenever you like, with puzzles you haven't seen, practice sets for each area with explanations, and your progress over time.

What your score means
IQ-style scores sit on a bell curve: the average is 100 and about two in three people score between 85 and 115. Your result is worked out from which puzzles you got right, not just how many, because some are much harder than others. It comes with a margin of error, because any short test has some uncertainty.
This is a well-built online reasoning test, not a clinical assessment, which needs a qualified psychologist. Read more in what IQ scores mean.
Questions people ask
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes: 20 puzzles and a short memory game. There's no clock on the puzzles, so take the time you need. How long you take is recorded and shown in your report.
Is this a real IQ test?
It uses the same kinds of puzzles as professional tests, and your score is worked out the way modern tests do it, from the difficulty of the puzzles you got right. It isn't a clinical assessment, and online test takers aren't a random sample of everyone, so treat the number as a good estimate rather than a diagnosis.
Can I take it again?
Yes. Members can take a fresh test whenever they like, built from puzzles they haven't seen before, and see how their scores compare over time.
How do I cancel?
Go to Your account and choose Cancel membership. It takes two clicks, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. If your first monthly payment has been taken and you didn't mean to continue, you can cancel and get it back within 14 days, in your account. Your report is yours to keep either way.
Why do I need an account to see the full report?
Your report is saved to your account so you can come back to it, and it's how you manage or cancel your membership yourself, without having to contact anyone.
